Stampede at Travis Scott’s tragic Astroworld injured more than 4,900 people, new filing claims

More than 4,900 people were injured in the stampede at Travis Scott’s Astroworld concert in November 2021, a new court has filed claims.

Ten people were killed following a crush during Scott’s performance at NRG Park in Houston last year. A Monday filing in Harris County argued that the total number of injured spectators is exponentially higher than originally estimated.

Lawyers Jason Itkin, Richard Mithoff and Sean Roberts said 732 victims were seriously injured and required extensive medical attention after the stampede.

They say another 1,649 received less extensive treatment and the severity of injuries to 2,540 spectators are still being investigated, Rolling Stone first reported.

The file did not specify what constituted “extensive” or “less extensive” treatment. When contacted by DailyMail.com on Tuesday, Mithoff’s office declined to give details, citing a gag order issued by the court in February.

They also refused to disclose the monetary damages claimed by the victims. It was previously reported that approximately 125 people have filed civil lawsuits against Scott and concert promoter Live Nation with potential damages amounting to $750 million.

News of the recent filing follows Travis Scott’s live performance at megaclub E11even in Miami on Sunday, his first public show following the Astroworld tragedy.

According to attendees, Scott held a bottle of Don Julio during the performance, which featured songs Sicko Mode and Butterfly Effect and lasted 45 minutes.

“Everyone owes me a chance. We need every stripper to show up at the f****** stage right now. We need every bottle flagged on this fucking ****** floor,’ the rapper said as he threw cash at the crowd, BuzzFeed.com reported.

Scott is set to make his first TV appearance this Sunday at the 2022 Billboard Awards.

The 31-year-old rapper is set to perform at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Sean Combs as host.

Scott had performed at private events in Southern California before since the Astroworld tragedy, but Sunday was his first public show.

The fatal incident happened during Scott’s Friday night performance on November 5 in his hometown of Houston.

This spawned countless legal issues for Scott, as well as an intense public backlash for his alleged handling of the fatal incident.

He was fired as the headliner of Coachella 2022, as well as the headliner of the Day N Vegas festival last year.

After keeping a relatively low profile for six months, Scott returned to the stage in the early hours of Sunday for the first time publicly since the festival.

He performed at the 20,000 square foot E11EVEN Miami nightclub in Miami, Florida, which he expressed his enthusiasm for on his Instagram story.

Sharing the club’s flyer with his massive online following, the rapper wrote: ‘Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh’

Tickets are $150 for women and $250 for men on the Florida 21+ site, and TMZ reported last month that VIP tables can cost well over $100,000.

It has been reported that some fans have paid up to $50,000 for reservations.

It was also announced last month that Scott is set to perform at his first festival since Astroworld next November.

He will headline the Primavera Sound festival next November and play three shows, with New Zealand singer Lorde scheduled before him.

The star is expected to perform in front of crowds of over 100,000 at the festival which will travel to Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

TMZ also reports that Scott is expected to appear at more concerts during the summer of 2022.

As he continues to plan his career comeback, Scott is also focusing on family life with Kylie Jenner. He and the 24-year-old makeup mogul welcomed their second child, a son, on Feb. 2, 2022.

The couple – who have been dating on and off since 2017 – are already parents to daughter Stormi, four.

Kylie made the birth announcement on Instagram by sharing a black and white photo of Stormi holding her newborn’s tiny hand.

The Kardashians star initially revealed she was expecting in August 2021, but has remained very private for the rest of her pregnancy after Astroworld.

After revealing the arrival of their second child, Kylie returned to Instagram shortly after to reveal that they had named their son Wolf.

But the following month, she publicly announced that their newborn was no longer called Wolf as they felt the name didn’t suit him.

Although they haven’t announced a replacement name yet, the reality star recently shared a glimpse of her baby boy in a video uploaded to her YouTube channel on Wednesday.

The video, titled ‘Married to the Met | Get ready for the Met Gala with me, took fans away as Kylie and her team prepared for her appearance at the star-studded event, held on Monday, May 2.

She included a brief clip of her newborn son’s feet as he boarded a private jet with his famous family en route to New York.

Look at my son’s cute shoes! He can’t even walk yet,’ Kylie shared as she filmed her little one wearing a pair of pint-sized Air Jordan 6 Retro sneakers in her baby carrier.
