Johnny Depp’s attorney, Camille Vasquez, has signed on to represent ‘Yellowstone’ actress Q’orianka Kilcher in her legal battle against the state of California after she was charged with two counts of drug fraud. workers’ compensation earlier this year.

Vasquez made a name for himself as one of the driving forces behind Depp’s victory in the multi-million libel lawsuit he filed against his ex-wife Amber Heard in Virginia. After a six-week trial, a jury found Heard defamed the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star, and he was awarded $10.35 million in damages. Heard was awarded $2 million in a countersuit after jurors found that Depp defamed her through one of his attorneys.

Camille, who joined Brown Rudnick LLP in 2018 as a litigator and was offered a partner position shortly after her big win with the Depp lawsuit, will work alongside Steve Cook, another partner at the firm specializing in white-collar defense investigations.

Vasquez and Brown told Fox News Digital they were ‘committed to defending’ Kilcher in her case, which was filed by the California Department of Insurance in July and claims she collected disability benefits while working on the popular drama despite being too injured to work.

“We are determined to defend Ms Kilcher in this important case which examines the inherent flaws in the disability compensation system,” they shared in a statement. “Ms. Kilcher is a highly respected and pioneering actress in Hollywood, and we intend to clear her name.”

Sources claimed Kilcher was “10% disabled for the rest of her life” following a car accident she was involved in nearly four years ago while working on set.

Kilcher reportedly collected “over $90,000 in disability benefits” and misrepresented the injuries of medical providers in an investigation released over the summer. The claim said Kilcher “injured her neck and right shoulder” while starring in the film “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” in October 2018.

She began seeking treatment for her injuries, but stopped and “did not respond to the insurance company which was processing her claim on behalf of her employer”.

A year later, she contacted the insurance company for treatment because she had been offered a job, but she couldn’t take the job “because her neck pain was too bad”.

The California state release claimed that Kilcher began receiving “temporary total disability benefits” shortly thereafter. Despite statements to a doctor that she was unable to work for a year, an investigation revealed that she worked on “Yellowstone” from July 2019 to October 2019.

She reportedly received $96,838 in “unearned disability benefits” from October 14, 2019 to September 9, 2021.

Kilcher is reportedly back for season five of the hit Kevin Costner show created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, which also stars Kelly Reilly and Luke Grimes. She will reprise her role as Angela Blue Thunder, according to Deadline.
