Gwyneth Paltrow says she’s “stayed in touch over the years” with ex-fiancé Brad Pitt.
The 50-year-old actress, speaking to Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, told the outlet that she rekindled her friendship with Pitt after they broke off their engagement in 1997 following a three-year relationship.
“When we first broke up, we weren’t friends for a while, then we kind of found our way back, probably 18 or 19 years ago, something like that, and then we stayed. in touch over the years,” Paltrow told the outlet.
Latest: Gwyneth Paltrow, 50, says she has ‘stayed in touch over the years’ with ex-fiancé Brad Pitt, 58. She was pictured at a promotional event for the Copper Fit brand in Santa Monica, Calif., on Wednesday.
The Shakespeare in Love star has made it clear she holds Pitt, 58, in high regard.
“I love it,” Paltrow said. “He’s an amazing person, and he’s a great entrepreneur, and so creative, and such a good person. I really like him. I’m a huge fan.’
Earlier this year, the Goop founder conducted a Q&A with the A-list actor on her website.
The Oscar-winning actress said she was never criticized by her husband Brad Falchuk for staying in touch with her ex, describing her spouse as “the least judgmental and most secure man in our relationship”.

Paltrow said she believes her husband, Brad Falchuk, whom she married four years ago, “totally respects” the friendship she and Pitt share
She said she thinks Falchuk, whom she married four years ago, “totally respects” the friendship she and Pitt, who starred together in the 1995 thriller Se7en, share.
“One of the things he probably likes about me is that I believe in conscious decoupling,” she said, “whether you decouple with a co-worker, spouse, boyfriend, I believe really that if you’ve invested in someone – and of course there are exceptions – to amputate that relationship… maybe then you’re not completely letting the lesson unfold and the healing happen.
“So while it can be uncomfortable at times, I think it’s nice to work through it and reconnect with the value that person brought to your life.”
Paltrow said she and Falchuk “have amazing chemistry and so that’s a big part of a foundation,” adding, “My body feels really good when he’s around, so it’s just luck. “
“I think we almost have a great respect for commitment and building, continuing to nurture a marriage. We have become very good communicators, so this is a very important part.
Paltrow is mother to Apple, 18, and Moses, 16, with ex-husband Chris Martin, 45, while Falchuk is father to Isabella, 18, and Brody, 16, with his ex-wife Suzanne Bukinik.

The actor was married to Jennifer Aniston from 2000 to 2005 and then entered into a relationship with Angelina Jolie the same year.
The Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-stars wed in 2014 and divorced in 2019 and share six children together; Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 14.
But things have turned sour since their split in 2016.
Earlier this month, TMZ reported that Jolie had embarked on a smear campaign against Pitt, who wreaked extreme havoc on children and poisoned them against their father.
Their six children, according to sources close to Brad, are now nearly separated from Pitt.

Controversy: Earlier this month, TMZ reported that Angelina Jolie embarked on a smear campaign against Pitt, who wreaked extreme havoc on children and poisoned them against their father
The actor has a “limited and strained relationship, due to his alienation campaign,” a source told the site.
Insiders have pointed out that Angelina has been alleging for six years that her ex got physical with at least one of their children during a 2016 altercation on a private jet. She also claimed that Pitt poured beer on her during that altercation.
Pitt denied the charges, but Jolie continued to pursue the issue with authorities, urging them to pursue him, according to TMZ.
An FBI investigation was conducted but did not move forward after deeming the charges insufficient. TMZ sources also say an investigation was conducted by the Department of Children and Family Services, but was also closed due to a lack of evidence.
Additionally, Angelina attempted to persuade a judge that Pitt was an unfit parent who should not be granted custody of her children. Ultimately, after hearing evidence, the judge essentially dismissed Jolie’s abuse allegations by awarding the exes 50/50 custody.

She then attempted to go public with her private jet allegations by filing what she believed to be an anonymous lawsuit against the FBI.
Earlier this month, Angelina went into detail about the private jet incident when she filed legal documents about the winery she and Pitt own, Chateau Miraval.
In the explosive court documents, Jolie accused her ex-husband of ‘choking’ one of their six children during a violent argument on a private jet, punching another in the face and pinning the actress against a wall inside him grabbing the hair.
According to insiders, Angelina’s behavior indicates that all she wants is revenge on her ex.
Insiders claim Angelina “won” because she allegedly poisoned their children against Pitt, with the actor having no relationship, if any, with the children. According to the sources, the whole family is a victim.
Sources also noted that Pitt has never publicly said anything bad about his ex out of respect for their children, but he is incredibly hurt by what he perceives to be a horrific attack on him.
