Galaxy S22 gets fifth (and final?) One UI 5.0 beta update

Two months ago, Samsung first released the Galaxy S22 One UI 5.0 beta update. Since then, the South Korean company has released three more beta updates with feature additions and bug fixes. Yesterday we reported that Samsung might release the fifth and final version of the One UI 5.0 beta update for the Galaxy S22 series, and the company did just that.

The fifth beta update of One UI 5.0 has been released for Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra in China. The new update has the end of the firmware version ZVJA and has a download size of 471.16 MB (for Galaxy S22 Ultra).

Galaxy S22 One UI 5.0 beta update removes Bixby text calling and fixes several bugs

Samsung Official Changelog claims the company fixed various bugs, including ones that forced the Galaxy Watch plug-in to close, caused camera autofocus failure and poor image quality, and restarted the phone .

The new software also fixes an issue that prevented users from adding fingerprints. Some people have also complained about missing phone unlock sound, and Samsung has fixed this problem with the latest update. Other issues included loud voice even after lowering call volume, incomplete wallpaper, missing Close All option in multitasking menu, and force quitting app while editing. pictures. These issues have been resolved.

Samsung said it removed the Bixby Text Call feature from the new One UI 5.0 beta update. The Bixby Text Call feature, which was announced last week, uses AI to convert voice (when calling) to text and displays it on the screen. Users can then type the text in response to the caller, and Bixby will convert that text to audio and deliver it to the person on the other side of the call. This way, a user does not need to speak or listen to participate in a voice call.

Reports also claim that the new One UI 5.0 beta brings smoother animations. Apparently frame drops have been reduced and animations are similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 running One UI 4.1.1.

One UI 5.0 Beta 5 could be the last beta update before the stable release of One UI 5.0

This could be the final beta version of One UI 5.0, and it could be released in other markets, including Germany, India, the UK, and the US, in the coming days. Samsung has announced that it will release the stable version of One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 for the Galaxy S22 series before the end of this month.
